My role as a mother is to hold space for my baby, in good and bad times. When she is sick it’s holding the space of doing nothing but cuddles, kisses, ‘everything is gonna be alright’ hymns, Reiki, lemon socks and organic beef bone broth. Our baby sleeps everywhere we take her. In the car, on the plane, in the stroller, but the best way for her to fall asleep is when we hold her or when she is on us. But since it’s not always convenient to have my hands full with a baby, carrying her in a sling or on my back is a perfect solution. As longs as she wants this I am lucky to do this, once she is older she might want more of that independence. So when I can I’ll keep my baby physically close for that nap.
